Corncomp Publishes New Guide to Help Buyers Verify Sustainable Food Packaging Certifications

For compostable packaging, third-party certification can provide additional evidence that a particular product or specification has been assessed against recognized compostability requirements.

Corncomp also advises buyers to distinguish between general material descriptions and product-specific certification.

A material such as PLA, CPLA or paper may be commonly associated with sustainable packaging, but the material name alone does not automatically confirm that every finished product made from it carries the same certification.
