EnergyCube Expands Three-Stage Belt Cleaner Line for Carry-Back on Mining and Plant Belts

EnergyCube, a Tianjin, China-based conveyor spare-parts specialist, has expanded its belt cleaner line into a staged three-position system covering the head discharge, the return run and the tail pulley. The package pairs a primary polyurethane blade, a tungsten-carbide-tip secondary cleaner and a V-plow return guard, aimed at cutting carry-back, spillage and fugitive dust on coal, aggregate and cement belts running 24 to 96 inches.

Carry-back is the material that sticks to the belt after discharge rather than dropping at the chute. As the belt returns underneath, this film and lumps redeposit along idlers, build up on drums and throw off alignment, creating spillage around transfer points, dust on the return run and extra wear on return rollers and pulleys. Plant operators often treat the symptom on individual rollers instead of removing residue at the belt surface where it leaves the discharge.

The primary cleaner mounts across the head-pulley arc and strips the bulk of carry-back at discharge. Segmented, replaceable polyurethane blades conform to the belt face and scrape coal, aggregate and grain before the material reaches the return run. The steel body holds the blade at a set angle, and worn segments can be replaced individually without removing the whole assembly, which keeps maintenance to a blade-level change rather than a full dismantle.

The secondary cleaner sits after the primary and polishes the belt down to the fine film that a PU blade leaves behind. Tungsten-carbide tipped segments remove sticky fines and surface film on mining and cement discharge belts, reducing fugitive dust on the return run and protecting downstream return idlers and pulleys from abrasive residue. It mounts stationary behind the primary, with replaceable tips rather than a full blade swap.

The V-plow return guard hangs across the empty return belt just ahead of the tail pulley, sweeping loose lumps outward to both sides before they can jam between the belt and drum. A PU or PE blade in a V arrangement suits light-to-medium 24 to 72 inch lines and acts as a low-cost guard for the tail pulley and return idlers where finer cleaning is handled upstream.

Each position is sized to belt width from 24 to 96 inches (600 to 2400 mm), and blade grade is matched to the declared duty, whether wet coal, abrasive aggregate or dusty cement. Selection follows where residue appears: bulk drop-off at the chute, fine film behind it, or lumps on the return run, so the cleaner staged at each position corresponds to the actual wear condition rather than a generic single blade.

The staged expansion responds to recurring carry-back and spillage at transfer points by placing bulk removal, fine polishing and return protection at three separate belt positions, without changing existing conveyor frame spacing.
