EnergyCube Upgrades Polyurethane-Coated Roller Line for Sticky Bulk Handling

EnergyCube has upgraded its polyurethane-coated roller line, adding bonded PU sleeves, labyrinth-sealed bearings and expanded self-aligning PU assemblies for coal, sand and aggregate conveyors facing carry-back and belt drift.

EnergyCube, a Tianjin, China-based conveyor spare-parts specialist, has upgraded its polyurethane-coated roller line for conveyors handling sticky, damp and abrasive bulk. The revision covers parallel PU-coated carrying rollers and a broader set of PU self-aligning and tracking assemblies, aimed at reducing material build-up, belt drift and operating noise on coal, sand and aggregate lines.

Across ports, mines, power plants and cement plants, conveyors moving moist coal fines, clay and damp aggregate often carry material that sticks to bare steel rollers. Build-up on the roller face changes the supported belt profile, contributes to uneven loading and belt drift, and raises noise and abrasion as fines are trapped between the belt and the tube. Operators increasingly specify coated, sealed rollers rather than plain steel where carry-back and alignment are recurring problems.

The upgraded parallel PU-coated roller wraps a bonded polyurethane or natural-rubber sleeve over a steel tube. It is offered in 4, 5 and 6 inch diameters (102 to 150 mm) for belt widths from 24 to 72 inches (600 to 1800 mm), with sealed bearings and labyrinth seals that keep grease in while excluding fines, moisture and wash-down. The smooth or slightly textured face resists sticking, runs more quietly than bare steel and reduces direct abrasion against the belt, which suits damp and wash-down duty as well as return-side support.

The PU self-aligning family has been expanded to cover the alignment problems that follow stickier material. Elastic PU buffer and comb rings absorb falling-material impact at loading chutes. A convex crown waist-drum roller provides passive belt centering on long runs, while a conical tapered tracking idler works in a rotary self-aligning station to correct gradual drift. A spiral PU face sheds sticky residue and contributes to self-cleaning where moist bulk tends to build on the roller.

Each coated roller is sized to CEMA D/E reference dimensions and existing bracket spacing for retrofit onto carry and return spans. Sleeve material and hardness are matched to the declared duty, whether wet, dusty, sticky or abrasive, rather than supplied as a single generic roll. Selection is based on belt width, material flow, drop height and the zone where the part sits, so the seal, face finish and coating correspond to the actual wear condition.

The upgrade responds to recurring carry-back, noise and belt-alignment issues on sticky bulk lines by combining a bonded PU sleeve, sealed labyrinth bearings and purpose-built PU tracking assemblies, without changing the reference dimensions used on existing conveyor frames.
